WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

This Patreon is focused on raising funds for paying artists. Every goal is centered on the creation of exclusive artwork pieces by various artists for not only our established series, Nook and Zed. Future projects include The Henchman, Mewow the Supercat, and the one-shot sci-fi comic, The Fly-trap.

This patron money is not meant for profit. All money will go directly into the production of conceptual artwork, character development, and full comic pages!!

I have a long-standing relationship with Katrina Kunstmann, who has done the artwork, coloring, and lettering for both ZED and Alter-Life. I will be working with her as well as with a number of other artists from around the world.

WHY PATREON?

Here's the deal. I am a full-time Dad, and I aspire to write comics as much as I can. My ambitions are grand and my ideas are vast, but my pockets are not deep. Comics require art, and great artists need to be paid for their work. Village Comics is my creation, and it's an attempt to have readers and fans help bring artwork to my ideas and creations.

I have successfully funded three creator-owned, self-published comic series through Kickstarter. Alter-Life is now finished. ZED and Nook will both continue and will likely be one of the primary functions of the money raised here. In addition, various other comic book ideas will be developed and conceptualized here with the money that we raise!

GOALS

Once we hit our goals, every month I will work artists to develop conceptual artwork, pin ups, cover art, and full pages of comics, some of which will ONLY be available to current patrons and other will be released here FIRST and then shared with the world.
I live to create, and I truly thank you all for supporting indie comics. I can't wait to reveal all of these worlds and ideas living inside my head.

FEATURED COMICS

ALTER-LIFE

A series exploring the mystery of Human Consciousness.

Alter-Life is the story of a man's tragic life that is forever changed when he discovers he can enter his alternate existences.

It’s been a rough few years. Trapped in a dead-end customer service rep job, his wife and child recently killed in an accident, Jake decides that he is just going to end it all.  On that day, at the very time and place he decides to kill himself, he is presented with a chance to bring meaning to his existence. Just as this meaning becomes clear, Jake is killed. The world goes black...

Suddenly, he finds himself standing at the very place and time he was before he died. Everything is different, but everything's the same. This discovery will send him on quest for the truth about his past and the source of his new found abilities.

ZED

A buddy-roadtrip-zombie-superhero series.

It lasted three years, but the outbreak is over. Most of the infected have been isolated or destroyed. The vaccine was created on day 900, and now life is getting back to normal. Cities are repopulating, and there is a long-awaited sense of calm throughout the country.
The PH-virus was relatively short lived thanks to Samuel Grace, genius scientist and the creator of the PH vaccine. His vaccine can prevent the spread of the virus, but cannot reverse it. Fortunately, Sam’s vaccine stopped the PH-virus before it decimated the world population, but the vaccine did not come without a cost. For three years Sam experimented on patient after patient, subject after subject. Tuning the vaccine carried a cost of both human and Post-Human life. One such test subject was Zed.

Zed was a good friend to Sam. They grew up together and remained friends even though they grew apart when Sam pursued science and Zed lived the simple life of a carefree ice deliveryman.

When the outbreak hit, society went into a frenzy of destruction. By year two, there was little need for deliverymen, and Zed wanted to help in any way he could. He offered to help Sam with his search for a cure. Although he successfully created a vaccination, Sam had other motives behind his research...

NOOK

A ghost story set in World War II France.

Fleeing the oppression of Germany, a young girl and her parents move to a remote town on the border of France. It is here she finds her new best friend, a cat named Nook. But, there is more to this cat than it seems.

A dark and twisted history longs to be revealed. The young girl embarks on a quest with her to learn more about her fuzzy new friend's past and what exactly happened to the family that once inhabited their new home.
