Every episode starts with the same greeting: “Hello, you’re very welcome to Virtual Citizens, a pop culture podcast from a pop culture generation.” So what does that mean exactly and why do we need help to keep saying those words?

Virtual Citizens is a podcast exploring pop culture through the lens of people who’ve grown up in it, taking a lens through a variety of topics and twisting through them hopefully with insightful conversation and witty banter. We’ve talked through Sherlock Holmes adaptations, failed YA movie franchises, musicians turned actors, magical girls and more. From innocuous beginnings, we branched out to special guest interviews with the likes of Tramp Press, Christy Dignam, Rick O’Shea, video game side projects and just recently have started doing coverage of cool events in Dublin.

And we’re not looking to stop branching out. In fact, we have plans to do more audio, return to video, buff up the website, have more writers on and just expand on the ways pop culture can be celebrated, critiqued and talked about. But we need your help to do so. Over the past year, this podcast was produced and created out of our pockets, in between fleeting moments of our spare time. Your much-appreciated help would certainly ease the load and make sure we can keep expanding.

We have some cool #content for our backers so take a look at the tiers to the right and see which one fits best for yourself. Any backer is incredibly welcome, no matter the tier.

Thanks very much for the support!
