I'm Gil Roth, host of The Virtual Memories Show, a podcast about books and life -- not necessarily in that order. Since 2012, I've delivered more than 250 fascinating, face-to-face conversations with writers, artists, cartoonists, critics, and other creative people, including Clive James, Thomas Dolby, Roz Chast, Samuel R. Delany, Irvine Welsh, Molly Crabapple, Harold Bloom, Jules Feiffer, Merrill Markoe, Virginia Heffernan, Barry Blitt, Phillip Lopate, Kyle Cassidy, Hayley Campbell, John Crowley, Tom Tomorrow, David Baerwald, Virginia Postrel, and Drew Friedman.
The Virtual Memories Show is the definition of a labor of love.
I've been footing the bill for recording equipment and software, website- and file-hosting, travel, and coffee with the proceeds of my day job, while spending nights and weekends producing this podcast on a weekly basis. That involves booking guests, researching their work and doing a ton of reading, conducting hour-plus in-person interviews, taking guest photos, processing and editing audio files, recording introductions, writing up show notes and weekly e-blasts, and promoting episodes on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and elsewhere.
I'm asking you to help support The Virtual Memories Show so that I can continue to bring you the illuminating conversations that you've come to expect, along with new material:
- a quarterly patrons-only bonus podcast,
- live podcast events,
- an E-book series,
- video shorts,
- and more!
(If you're uncomfortable using Patreon, you can make a donation via Paypal instead.)
