Though at times, it may seem otherwise, the Tabletop role-playing game space is filled with people from marginalised communities. We're everywhere! Yet, our Voices are under-represented.

Voices at play is one small step to push back against this trend.

We, are a group of passionate Tabletop RPG fans from a broad selection of marginalised communities. Using our range of experience and perspective, we aim to elevate the work of marginalised creators within the TTRPG hobby.

Every other month, as a group, we purchase multiple copies of a different tabletop RPG, produced by a marginalised creator. Splitting into groups of 4 (mixed up with every new system) , we run and record two separate one shots (a single session game) run by a different person each time.

Our goal is to highlight, not only the dramatic array of stories that can be told and games that can be played within one system, but also highlight just how different and special every TTRPG experience can be when we introduce new and varied perspectives.

Every other month, we also record a round table discussion. One between the folks who were able to run the game and another between the folks who took part only as players.

We'll discuss everything from how quick the game was to learn, what sort of stories we told and what stories we felt the game was designed to tell; We'll talk crunch, rules and overall enjoyment. Introducing as many perspectives as possible.

Once the podcast is live; we'll be releasing every recorded game session, on a weekly basis, with a roundtable discussion released every month (one from the players, one from the GMs) based on the current system in focus.

The goal of Voices at play is not only to directly fund marginalised creators but also to produce content around their work, increasing awareness of their products and increase the level of representation of marginalised voices within the TTRPG community!

This venture is entirely not-for-profit. Once all costs and Patreon reward expenses are covered, money raised will be donated to charities which support marginalised communities, the world over.

The charities supported will be chosen as voted on by our Patreon supporters.
