About

Wake Up Beaumont! was created because change begins in the city you live.

I’m so excited that you are here and that you are thinking about joining an online community made up of people from all over our city! As my patreon you will get access bonus content like a newsletter or deleted conversations with local politicians, insights into the process, and the chance to influence the show!
Wake Up Beaumont began as way to educate myself about local politics and to help other people in my community understand what is going on in our community. I go beyond social media conversations and beyond what is on the headlines to try to talk to people in politics and people who are affected by them. My goal is, and has always been, to cut through voter apathy by providing people with information they need to be confident in their civic engagement.

I’ve had the privilege to cover mayoral elections and interview figures like Mayor Becky Ames and Councilman Mike Getz, as well as their opponents; the school board, including breaking the news that Ozen and Central were being combined weeks before other media outlets; and, yes, I did interview Beto O’Rourke.

Wake Up Beaumont! is growing - more people are feeling empowered to vote, to question, and to get up and move. I have so many goals and ideas that I will share with my patrons and together we can build a better Beaumont.

When I reach $100 a month, renting studio space every month will be a breeze!
