If you appreciate our work, become a patron at any level that feels right. You are our fuel!

We create because we’re called to. Because we couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Because it fulfills us in a way nothing else ever could.

Slowly and steadily, together we're creating a groundswell*.

My earliest and best memories and clearest insights involve water. That's why I became a marine biologist, to explore and restore the world's waters and oceans that have given us all so much and are the basis of health and well-being. Patreon allows me to follow my ideas and passions creatively—even when the status quo, foundations, or academia aren't quite ready—and take patrons along for the journey.

Now, my life is dedicated to and focused on re/connecting people to healthy waters, themselves, and each other.

After a decade of research and practice I've concluded that sharing the simple, useful, unique, and transformative Blue Mind message with everyone—as far and wide as possible—is the best use of my time.

Our goal is create a groundswell of support for the idea that "water is medicine". Our hope is that the Blue Mind ethos will become common knowledge. We work with thought-leaders, researchers, practitioners, and gatekeepers across nine major WET HEARTS sectors to put Blue Mind research and insights into action.

  • Water + food infrastructure
  • Environment + conservation
  • Technology + innovation
  • Health + wellness
  • Education + parenting
  • Arts, architecture + design
  • Real estate + planning
  • Travel + leisure
  • Sports + recreation

Thank you for investing in this important, collaborative, multidisciplinary, creative work and successful movement-making through the years.

    • In the 1990's we started an international grassroots effort to save sea turtles and their habitat and learned how to build a successful citizen science-based movement.
    • In 1996 after tracking Adelita across the Pacific from Mexico to Japan through an area famously known as the "Great Pacific Plastiscape" we began efforts to bring attention to plastic pollution, globally. Sea turtles have emerged as the poster species for the movement.
    • In the 2000's Ocean Revolution, Slow Coast & Blue Mind Works were born, changing conversations for good locally and around the world, and reaching more than 1 billion people.
    • In 2019 watch for a new Blue Mind film (see the trailer above), my next book (Live Blue: The Seven Ages of Water), a new podcast, our 9th summit, along with more international translations of Blue Mind.
    • The next decade will be even more productive as we build on these successes, reach the next billion people, initiate new creative partnerships, and unite these movements into a groundswell for change.

In 2019 your investment as a patron will give you priority access to a new film and book, the launch of a podcast, our 9th Annual Blue Mind Summit, 6th Annual 100 Days of Blue Mind Challenge, 5th Annual Online Book Club, early notification of events and announcements, some surprise rewards, and so much more.
