is creating visual art

For well over a decade, I and my small team of artists have been creating unique hand-coloured studio photography and contemporary miniature paintings in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Rajesh Soni, as a third generation photo hand-colourist, and R. Vijay, the magical painter of our miniature narratives, deserve so much of the credit, as does our intricate border artist Shankar Kumawat and our photo backdrop painter Dalpat Singh Jinger. I want to thank the many galleries and collectors who have supported us on our journey into the art world over the years. Living as an American in India for the past seventeen years has taught me a lot about about intercultural relations, and it is this that we try to address in our art. But our work also entails great expense: each artist/collaborator is paid for everything that they produce, whether it sells or not. Studio rents and electric bills need to be paid, framing and shipping expenses need to be covered, travel to exhibitions needs to be booked, and there is the constant need to pay for materials and labour. Though we have sold well during the years, your help in supporting our work is sorely needed to continue making our dreams realities. Please help us expand our possibilities as we look to the future.
