About Weber County Heritage Foundation

Member Benefits:

FREE events year round: special-access open houses, walking tours, lectures, reenactments, and more! Last year...
  • We repped the Ogden spirit at the Utah State Historic Preservation office, presenting "The Untamed Women of Ogden's Notorious 25th Street" at a lecture series in Salt Lake City.
  • We partnered with the Eccles Art Center with an exhibit and lecture on Ogden's Untamed Women, for Women's History Month in March.
  • We shared Weber County historic photos and histories with thousands of social media followers, every single day.
  • Our Cemetery Tour 2020 was attended by hundreds, to rave reviews.

Save architectural treasures.
Advocate for threatened historic sites all over Weber County. Last year...
  • We applied for and won historical designation for THREE sites in Ogden, marking the homes and headquarters of three Ogden suffragettes who played national roles in the suffrage movement. Sarah Anderson, first to attempt to vote; Kate Hilliard, national Socialist Party activist; and Jane Richards, Utah's representative in the National Women's movement, will be commemorated with historical markers as part of the National Votes for Women Trail! The markers will be going up later this year; watch this space for event notifications!
  • We joined the National Trust for Historic Preservation's initiative to "tell the full American story" by adding eight Ogden women and their associated buildings to the National 1,000 Women Who Made History registry. If you have further suggestions of Weber County sites to add to the national list, let us know!
  • We sponsored property owners in listing their historic homes on both the National Historic Registry and the Ogden Historic Registry.
Help us tell ALL the stories. Support films, social media, and public events that help everyone feel a sense of roots, pride, and belonging.  Last year...
  • We launched our YouTube Channel.   Watch our popular ongoing film series, "History in a Minute".  We also post videos of past events!
  • We created another FREE audio tour. "Ogden's UntamedWomen" features women who pioneered equality in Weber County, while highlighting historic architecture where they lived and worked downtown. (In 2019, we launched free audio tours of Historic 25th and Union Station.)
We hope you will generously support our efforts to preserve Weber County's history and to share the past in vibrant new ways. We could not do any of this without you.
