Welcome to Wear Your Voice Magazine’s Patreon! If you don’t already read and love us, we’re excited to tell you more about who we are and what we do.

When Ravneet Vohra founded WYV in 2014, her goal was to provide an independent platform for marginalized identities to share our stories, experiences, and interests. Now, WYV has become an essential space for Black and brown queer women, femmes, trans, and non-binary people. As a publication which uses the framework of intersectionality, we prioritize marginalized voices and pay our writers to reclaim their narratives from the white, cisheteronormative gaze.

As an entirely self-funded site, we have been providing essential resources for our audience but now we need some help with raising funds to keep our platform going. With all of this being said, here is how your patronage will make us sustainable:

  • With a monthly goal of $5K, your patronage helps us pay: our staff and editors’ monthly wages and all of our weekly articles which cover everything from dismantling anti-Blackness in POC communities, to pieces about how to build an altar as a practicing healer or witch.

  • Currently, each writer is paid $50 to $60 per piece, so if you choose to be a part of our “Sponsor” tier, you are quite literally paying a writer every month!

  • Every patron is essential to us. $5 monthly pledges are powerful and meaningful. For those with more financial means, we appreciate your generosity and we invite you to curate articles that YOU want to see on our site by joining one of our “Creator” or “Ultra Fan” tiers. We want our readers to be involved in shaping our content and we look forward to creating a sustainable platform thanks to you!

As an entirely BIPOC-run site, we are striving to provide our dearest readers and supporters with information which has not been dissected or tone-policed because our writers deserve to have a safe space where they can explore their identities and their interests. Thank you for supporting all of us!
