Do We Really Hate Bards?

Eh, they're alright really, except when they are an NPC important to the GM's railroading plot! In that circumstance, out with the trash!

No Really, What is We Hate Bards?

We Hate Bards is a gaming community local to West Michigan. Started by Cris and Matt, We Hate Bards was built out of desperation! We had a need to expand our gaming circle, and to find others who are dedicated to the professional side of gaming. With the help of some of our local gaming heroes, we started a podcast to share our gaming experiences. Together, Cris (The King of Props), Matt (The PallyDo), Ben (David the Barbarian), Justin (The Red Cross Assassin), Luke (The Orator to the Gods), Ryan (The Wiseman), and Mike (The Half-Human GM) are We Hate Bards!

Why Patreon?

We Hate Bards believes in making gaming accessible to  everyone with a love for the game. We have a lot of reasons for wanting more money, first and foremost, we need more money to invest in our podcasting equipment, to support publishers, to attend more conventions, to gain our own gaming paradise, and to recoup our technology costs.

What Have We Done and Where You Can Find Us?

"We Hate Bards is the premier RPG community in Western Michigan. As a Game Designer and Indie Publisher, the Bards have helped me fill playtest tables, schedule convention events, record actual play podcasts, and even get my product in a few more stores. The guys are honest, reliable, and seriously committed to helping you move your product. Plus, they love roleplaying as much as I do! "

-Pete Petrusha
Game Designer, Creative Director, and Founder of Imagining Games

"A few years ago, we ran our game at U-Con Gaming Convention here in Michigan. In one game in particular, a few members of a group, We Hate Bards, sat in and played. The creativity and enthusiasm they brought to the table was outstanding. Since then, we have been in regular contact with them. We Hate Bards regularly runs our game and adventures at both conventions we have a presence at, and cons we don’t. Additionally, they have played our flagship game in recorded sessions for their podcast. The game sessions and play testing of our game by We Hate Bards has been invaluable. Their creativity and deep understanding of gaming and game systems has taken our game to the limits. They even used our system to run a game in the world of Fallout. We Hate Bards has done an amazing job of advancing our game and brand, and we are excited to continue working with them."

-Donald Jones
Game Designer, Second Generation Owner of Thunderhead Games

"We at Mythopoeia Games Publications cannot say enough about We Hate Bards. It is rare to find a gaming organization with as many qualified GM’s able to run almost any game system with finesse and panache. Not only that, there are few if any organizations running as many games as We Hate Bards. In fact, they may actually be running games every day, twenty-four-seven, three-sixty-five with most of them turned into podcasts. In addition, they perform a great public service to local stores and organizations filling up game hall tables allowing for a constant stream of customers. More than anything else, they are great believers in new games and publishers and we would not be anywhere without them. Joining and supporting We Hate Bards is a must for any RPG enthusiast."
