Milestone Goals
Debt Freedom!!!
Help us make the monthly mortgage payment for the school!
Don't let this roof fall on us!!!
Our leaking roof is causing structural damage, we want to stop it sooner rather than later.
Brrrr, we are shivering!!!
Help us be warm and toasty on cold days. Let's fix our furnace!
Give us a clear view
We'll refurbish our steel windows from 1938!
About
Saving the 1938 Art Deco building and 1812 Green Academy site with student determination
Location
Huntsville, AL, USA
Have you noticed many school-age children today? Many don't care about their school and some even want to vandalize their school building. We, the students of Providence Classical School (PCS) located in the Historic District of Huntsville, Alabama want to Save Our School.
What? Previously, our school met in a private home and various church buildings around town. Our school kept growing and eventually we needed our own building. In 2013, PCS purchased a historic school building that was originally constructed in 1938. We are so proud of our new (old) building but now we are in debt and our building needs repair and maintenance. Your support will help us pay off our debt, repair the roof, repair the furnace, and refurbish the historic windows.
Why? Our building was constructed in 1938. It is one of very few art deco buildings still standing in Huntsville, Alabama. Before we purchased the building, the neighborhood fought developers from it being destroyed and PCS was able to purchase the building. According to a historic marker on the school grounds, the location of PCS has been used for school purposes since 1812.
How? Several reward levels allow you to tailor your subscription. For $10 per month, you'll be kept in the loop on what's happening with our building and our school. Higher amounts will result in you receiving letters, poems, photos, and videos from the students of PCS. For those that really want to support historic building preservation, we'll name a classroom in your honor!
Thanks for Your Support,
The Students of Providence Classical School
Note: Donations to Providence Classical School are tax deductible. PCS is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization.
