Overview

There are plenty of podcasts that will tell you how Apple’s latest product will affect the tech landscape tomorrow, but there aren’t that many concerned with the potential impact of that tech in 2024. In a culture obsessed with now, how can we make choices with a view for tomorrow, next year, and beyond?

From crowdsourcing to Twitter gaffes to superhero movies to genetics to social justice issues, Winning Slowly delivers a thoughtful analysis of how the small things we do can have big impacts (and vice versa).

Giving Back

We’ve discussed the problem of “losing things on the internet”—link rot—before (take a listen to 0.03: Echo Chamber). Accordingly, we'd love to do our part to help. Accordingly, we'll give 10% of any and all funding to the Internet Archive, which powers the Wayback Machine and is the only major group actually working on keeping an archive of the internet.

First off, you know you’re great. Second, so does anyone who reads the show notes, because your name goes in the notes every episode of the month you supported us! (And if you’d rather keep it private, you can, of course!)

You already know you’re fantastic. But we’ll make sure everyone else does by thanking you for sponsoring the show at the end of every episode every month you support us. And of course, your name also goes in the show notes. (And if you’d rather keep it private, you can, of course!)

Whoa! You must really like the show. We’re so grateful, we’ll put your name on our website on a shiny new sponsors page, as well as listing you in the show notes and calling you out as a sponsor at the end of each episode in every month you host. (And if you’d rather keep it private, you can, of course!)

Topicalizer (Season 6)

Suggest a topic for the show for the 2017 Season 6! We’ll coordinate with you to tackle a subject you’re interested in (with a lot of latitude, but also with our editorial discretion to fit the theme of the podcast). We’ll also credit you as the source for the topic, as well as crediting you in the show notes, on the sponsor page on the website, and at the end of the show. (And if you’d rather keep it private, you can, of course!)

Note: we have a limited number of slots for these each season, because, well... we have a few topics of our own we’d like to get to, as well! Once these are gone, they’re gone… until the next season!

Q&A Session (Season 3)

Schedule a half-hour-long podcasting question and answer session with us! We’ll set up a Skype call with you to chat about our technique and approach for recording the show—from planning to dealing with schedule issues to getting good audio on our microphones to editing. We’ll also credit you in the show notes, on the sponsor page on the website, and at the end of the show. (And if you’d rather keep it private, you can, of course!)

Note: we have a limited number of slots for these because we’re busy guys! Once these are gone, they’re gone… until Season 6!
Goals
$18 of $20 per month
If we hit this level, we can pay for full accounts on extra-great chat tool Slack—so we can let you chat with us in a dedicated public channel! You want to give us feedback, suggest new topics for the show, or generally just talk to us in a more focused way than Twitter, Facebook, or App.net allow? This is how you make it happen.

Note: the cost is a little higher than what Slack charges because Patreon takes a small cut.
