Artist Statement

The consequences of childhood trauma are compounding and unpredictable. Moving to America allowed me to leave the physical pain behind but the psychological effects I could not escape. Clay allows me to work through the past and dream about the future while grounding me in the present. My work explores beauty in the unseen, the forgotten and the foreign.

I am raising money for my first solo exhibition, Sub; Marine, that will take place August 2019 at Carnegie Art Center in North Tonawanda.  This event will showcase what I've been working on for the past two years.  It explores beauty in the foreign and strange.

I will be selling pieces at the show and the proceeds from that will go into my fund to study traditional ceramics and pottery in Myanmar.
