Lovers of literature, unite!
W.O.K.E. (Women Of Knowledge & Empowerment) Author Zone
Hello to all the followers, readers, supporters, fans, and lovers of literature. My name is L. Renee' Chubb, Creator, and Founder of "Women Of Knowledge & Empowerment, W.O.K.E., Author Zone and column on DemWrite Press.

This site is for us, by us. Meaning, women writers. The ones who use their gifts to empower other women. I wanted to create a place that was free from judgment and Oxford commas, and full of support, empowerment, and a strong network for women writers, specifically, African American women, and disenfranchised women of all races.

We're not big on bougie content meant to boost the author's ego, more than edify the reader. We are HUGE on creativity, passion, inspiration, and love for our craft, that we share as a familial bond. We share, we live and provide a glimpse into our world through our words. Our type of literature and unique writing styles are raw and real.

I've been writing for 10 years.  Self-published my first book, "To Walk With Grace is to Run With God", on Amazon, in 2011.  What I thought would be a lucrative career doing something I loved, has turned into more of a passion and been relegated to hobby status by my bills and rent.

You've been there, right?  If you are a woman, especially a woman of color, you can definitely relate to having a love/hate relationship with our God-given talent, and how we are compensated, or not, for our work.  Even our fans can empathize with this.

That's why I wanted to create a Patreon account for the authors and writers of W.O.K.E. Author Zone.  We all love to write a good op-ed that won't be sliced to shreds but we'd rather be compensated for our stories, our essays, our journalism pieces, including exclusive interviews as it relates to the world of literature including its loyal, magically unique community of family and supporters.

You can be an author, writer, blogger, fan of literature, or just want to see women win.

Here's what Patron support does for the women in our community:
  • Keep the W.O.K.E. Author Zone website a 100% free place for writers to showcase their work, receive training to improve their craft, and form a community of supporters and fans.
  • Create a community of literature lovers, of all genres, to support women writers, and ensure they get compensated, at least something, for their time and work.
  • Create FREE training classes for our authors: How to publish indie, how to market & sell books, doing a virtual book tour and more!
  • Provide a means to support contests and prizes where authors can win trips, gift cards, tools to help their writing, and free merch from our store.
  • Pay for fact-checking and editing of non-fiction pieces, editing on all pieces and consistent publication and marketing of all authors on our site.
  • Cover costs to protect their property rights, review their publishing contracts, handle disputes, and even protect their identity.  (This is an exclusive program for disenfranchised writers who qualify)
  • Exclusive access to "Senior Sis-tizen" by L. Renee' Chubb, a comedic, interactive story about an African American, Generation Y woman, navigating 2020.  The story will be a Patreon interactive story, where the reader/writer determines what happens next, and you can end up on the credits when the book is complete and published on Google Books, as a free read. (We'll write until we reach 80,000 words)
  • List your work, products or services on our website without paying the vendor membership fee!
  • Pay for the cost of printing and shipping press badges to our field journalists and cover the cost of getting to and from local places, events, and sources.

If you would like to simply make a one time donation to help an artist get thier book art work done, have a contract reviewed, or simply support their effort, you can do so on our home page at www.wokeauthorzone.com

For more information about our legal shield benefits, you can text WOKE to 737-777-9909 to receive a message about the benefits of having a plan, so you know what your donation helps to provide. Want to check it our for yourself?  Visit https://lrchubb.ladiesofjustice.com
