Milestone Goals
Wordplay free of YouTube ads!
Don't you hate pressing "Skip This Video"? Don't you EXTRA hate those little banner ads that cover the host's... er.... hands? Pressing X is just too hard. At $500 a month, I'll spare you the extra click.
Mini-vlog per episode
Patrons will get a special, private mini-vlog talking in-depth about the example piece I shared for each Wordplay and a bit of the behind-the-scenes writer perspective!
Haiku challenge video
As is custom, the funniest or silliest user-submitted prompts are shared in every video, inciting a rush of inspired haiku in the comments. With this goal, I'll make a Patron-only video with my OWN haiku and more silly user suggestions.
Live writing sessions!
Kind of like exercising, it's easier to do something if you schedule a time and know other people will be participating. A live writing session is exactly that! I'll be hopping into a Google hangout and broadcasting my screen so you can see my progress, and we'll sit down and write! Set aside a moment in your life to participate (or watch, if curiosity strikes) and let's have a writing party on the internet!
Hanging out with Authors
...Wherein I drag some poor unsuspecting friend of mine into a Google Hangout and we talk about writing. Do you know how many writers there are out there? Loads! Usually they're working in some other capacity, but I've found that it's something that unites so many of us and that people don't talk about it enough. Whether they're actors, game devs, webcomic creators, or are lucky enough to make their living from writing, I wanna get them talking about a craft that is so easily overshadowed.
Yeah, it's a hell of a stretch goal, but maybe someday I can make this happen.

the Wordplay Showcase!
Every month, we will read through the challenges YOU write and submit to find some of the best ones and present to the community! This takes a lot of time and effort to read each piece, but I can't wait to find the great stuff and show it off!

Wordplay is a “creative writing challenge show” where we tackle a genre, style, or literary format and try it out for ourselves! Ever wondered if you could write a mystery, or what it takes to make an epic death scene? Wordplay helps out and tries to take the edge off of starting something new and unknown. Plus, it gets you writing!
I’m Nika, an independent author and I created Wordplay to encourage people to write more often. Because... well, it’s fun. Whether for a hobby, a job, a creative outlet or really impressive love letters, the benefits of writing are exponential.
The first season, comprised of sixteen episodes, was hosted on Geek & Sundry vlogs channel and ranged from topics like iambic meter and fanfic all the way to writing a good cover letter. It was an amazing project and I missed it too much to go on without it. Luckily, I don’t have to. My notebook of Wordplay topics and content is cracked open once again, and we’re gonna get scribblin’!

With my goal of two episodes a month, that is a huge time investment (I do the show myself and it takes me about 20 hours to research, write, film and edit each episode) but your support means Wordplay can be my focus, dedicating time and attention to making each episode stellar, like I’ve always wanted it to be. Even more content, examples, and opportunities to cultivate your writing and support others as well!
If you’ve been slammed by the dastardly writer’s block, or if you want to break the mold of your current writing, then check out http://ThisIsWordplay.com and see if it helps get those words flying.
Thanks so much and remember to support your local writer! Especially if that writer is yourself.
