Words on the Verge is a monthly literary salon in Brockport, NY. Writers come to the series with a variety of backgrounds and include those who have several published works under their belt while others are emerging writers just breaking onto the scene. Writers read their work and the audience then has a chance to ask questions and engage with the writer in an atmosphere that is comfortable and welcoming to all who attend.

Our program has two goals:

1) To provide a safe space for new and emerging women, non-binary, and trans writers to read their work to a supportive audience.

2) To bring readers and writers together at friendly events open to everyone in the community.
We aim to bridge the distance between writers and readers. Many literary events can often feel like rarified affairs that leave audience members and fans feeling on the outside of a private, academic world. Our events encourage artist/audience dialogue allowing everyone in attendance to feel a part of a welcoming community.

We are seeking funding so that we may pay each reader a fee and increase our marketing program.
Goals
$4 of $500 per month
We are seeking funding so that we may pay each reader a fee and increase our marketing program. We hope to earn $500 by August 31, 2018.
