WrestleBotch

is creating and curating awful wrestling content

WrestleBotch started in 2018 when I noticed no one was really posting Botchamania type content on Instagram.

Because I am an obsessive crazy person, I thought it would be fun to categorize the videos, and I think that’s what has helped the account grow so much... themed hashtags – some of which don’t even really have to do with botches (#SuperSellSunday for ridiculous oversell’s, #WastedFanWednesday for drunk idiots jumping the barricade at shows, etc) as well as a community-driven submissions process.

Over the last year we’ve organically gained 100K followers on Instagram, 24K on Twitter, and the account is followed by various celebs and past/present wrestlers including The Rock, Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Nia Jax, Natalya, Kevin Nash, and Rey Mysterio. Many of them actively participate / comment on the videos, some have even submitted videos of their own!

So where am I going with all of this?

In April 2019 I started a YouTube series called ‘WTF Happened?’ where I interview wrestlers about notorious spots gone wrong. It’s basically an extension of WrestleBotch, except instead of watching a 9 second clip on Instagram or Twitter, you can get some context behind exactly what went wrong, whether the guy/gal was injured, etc. It’s been slow goings (editing takes a long time!) but I’ve posted a few episodes, and gotten lots of great feedback. I have a few more episodes already filmed and several confirmed that will be posted throughout the year including guests John Morrison, David Arquette, and Joey Janela.

I've turned down lots of paid advertising opportunities on my Instagram because I don't want to ruin a good thing for a couple dollars, so rather than water anything down, I'm offering some fun perks that will (hopefully!) give you even more reason to support WrestleBotch. Many of the perks are based around the community-driven spirit that we've built with our Instagram following over the last year including voting on new themed hashtags, a committee panel for year-end WrestleBotch awards, and shout outs + early episodes of 'WTF Happened?'.

Love you all, and appreciate the support!

Getting 10 people on board will unlock a Mongo video compilation for the ages (and also show me that this wasn't entirely a waste of time).
