I created Woodworking for Mere Mortals in 2008 with the simple idea that everyone is capable of making fantastic projects without having to spend a lot of money on tools and materials. Since then, WWMM has grown into the largest, most popular woodworking community online and one of the most watched how-to channels on YouTube.

The weekly project video (seen every Friday) is now part of the For Mere Mortals Network, which produces Mere Minutes, Ask Me-Mo, Mere Mini's, Me-Mos Make, as well as the all new Home & Garden For Mere Mortals.

All of these productions stick to the same core values I started with: to provide quality how-to content, projects and entertainment that is accessible to as many people as possible and empower viewers to make amazing things on their own. Everyone can do this.

I am dedicated to keeping my content free and open. I hope to convince everyone that it can be a lot of fun making projects from scratch with your hands. Woodworking for Mere Mortals is an ideal as well as a show!

To produce my project videos, every week I need to dream up a project, design it, estimate costs and materials, purchase those materials, build the project, shoot video along the way, and edit it.

But that's is just part of my schedule. I need to maintain the web site daily (with help from my son Wyatt), participate and contribute to social media, market and promote my shows, create newsletters, shoot, edit and upload my other shows such as Mere Minutes every weekend, Ask Me-Mo, etc. I arrange the content for Home & Garden for Mere Mortals and produce those shows. I need to deal with sponsors and advertisers, answer comments and questions, make appearances.
Building woodworking projects seems such a tiny part of it all! But since WWMM has become my profession, I actually love woodworking more. The time I spend in the shop is quiet and more valuable than ever.
All of this costs a lot of money to manage which is why I need your help.
So I humbly ask you to support Woodworking for Mere Mortals voluntarily on a monthly basis, for however much you see fit. Ask yourself what value you have gained from my show and how much it is worth to you. Have you downloaded any of my plans and built a project from them? Many web sites charge $10 or more per plan. Have you learned some tips and gained information that has inspired you to make something? Or maybe you have just simply been entertained by my show.

I'd like for you to consider something else. Your pledge is not just helping me, but pays forward to literally thousands of people you will most likely never meet. Many people simply can't afford to donate to WWMM, and I totally understand that.
But by helping me to keep my show free and open, there is a possibility that your $3 per month pledge might help me to produce something that may inspire someone on the other side of the world who could go on to create something great. Maybe something to benefit us all.

How you can help me
Producing For Mere Mortals content is my full-time job. Seven days a week, often 15 hours a day.To produce my project videos, every week I need to dream up a project, design it, estimate costs and materials, purchase those materials, build the project, shoot video along the way, and edit it.

Your pledge can help others
Crowdfunding is a great way for creators to connect with viewers who are passionate about what they produce. Typically, this is a very small percentage of the total viewership of a web show, but by even considering supporting WWMM and reading this far, you are already in this top tier of fans.I'd like for you to consider something else. Your pledge is not just helping me, but pays forward to literally thousands of people you will most likely never meet.
