Salute!

Hay (with an a)! I'm Madiha. I am a web serial fiction writer and one of the brains behind Transmediacrity, I write stories, record podcasts and upload gaming videos to youtube.

The Labor

In the past I focused exclusively on fiction, most of it in blog and tumblog format, though I have recently also self-published an ebook volume of my current main project, The Solstice War.

The Solstice War is an alternate universe serial war story with parallels to World War 2, including tactics and technology. It takes place in its own world, and like me many of the primary characters are people of color. There are many LGBTQ characters, representing not only all kinds of identities, but different upbringings and personal narratives that I want to see in more stories.

Recently I started making a podcast with my friend Esther, we call it Transmediacrity. It is a casual podcast focusing on a friendly chat between friends about various pieces of media. As gay and trans women we try to bring our own under-represented perspective into the world of media through this podcast. We hope you will enjoy our discussions and our jokes and our casual tone.

Even more recently, we started doing video! Check out our youtube channel. We also have regular streams, and I make videos that Patreon patrons get early or exclusive access to.

Your Support

I set up this Patreon several years ago when I was in a very dire situation financially. This Patreon supported me through to being able to move in with my girlfriend and get a well-paying job that now sustains my living expenses. What I would like for this Patreon to do now is to help support and grow the little community around my works: to, for example, pay the people who come on the show, or pay for art to be commissioned for the stories. I no longer need the money exclusively to support myself and would like to use it to support others or to get cool things for the community.

I'm going to charge whenever I make something significant, so I will sometimes charge more than twice a month. You can use Patreon's settings to set a maximum contribution per month: several Patrons are already doing this. If you think your ability to pay is still the $10 donation you made when that was a tier at the start, by all means. If not, you can cap it at $2.50 a month and that will be fine with me also. Pay whatever it is that you want and think that you can pay each month.

Here's how to cap your donation. Please read this and do it: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002984506-How-do-I-set-a-monthly-max-to-my-membership-

Thank you so much for your time and attention. I hope you pledge and enjoy!
