About xBrowserSync

xBrowserSync is a free and open-source alternative to browser syncing tools offered by companies like Google, Firefox, Opera and others. The project was born out of a concern for the over-reliance on services provided by big tech, who collect as much personal data as they can and have demonstrated that they do not respect their user’s privacy .  That was back in 2016, and since then we've seen countless stories in the media about how these companies lose and abuse passwords and private data like it's going out of fashion, and even selling our personal data for private gain or to push agendas that we never agreed to nor even asked about. Perhaps these companies started with noble aims, but it's now clear that absolute power, as ever, has corrupted them.

Since that time, the number of people looking for alternatives to big tech services grows every day, people who wish to take control of their data but need the tools to help enable them. xBrowserSync is but one of many such tools helping to change the way users engage with internet services.

The ultimate goal of xBrowserSync is to help enable users to take control of their own data without sacrificing their security or productivity. It is my belief that distributed tech used creatively can definitely improve our lives, all it takes is a little time and effort to build the tools and educate ourselves how to use them. I'm committed to building xBrowserSync with these principles in mind, and with your patronage will create a service that can not just compete but best those offered by big tech!

Whether you donate $100 or $1, you are actively contributing to the fight against big tech, whilst at the same time protecting your privacy and taking responsibility for your data. With every user they lose, their power and influence weakens and we move one step closer to living in a world where tech is used to improve our lives rather than control us.

Thank you so much for your support!
