The You Are Not So Smart Podcast

I make shows about the psychology of self delusion. On those shows I interview scientists and eat cookies.

$1,000 per month
My favorite podcasts have segments where reporters and producers go out into the world and bring back amazing stories. This level of funding would make that possible by paying for plane tickets, food, hotels, freelance journalists, photographers, and so on.
Ad-Free Episodes for Everyone
$6,000 per month
Patrons already get the show ad-free, but if we hit this goal so will everyone else - thanks to the fact that the production costs will be completely covered by patrons.
Add a Producer/Reporter
$8,000 per month
This would amplify the quality of the show so much. Adding a producer means adding a new brain to the show, a new voice, and new segments. A producer/reporter would create stories for the show, which would fill the episodes with multiple segments like you hear on shows like Invisibilia, 99 Percent Invisible, and Radiolab.

I love making the You Are Not So Smart podcast. It's a show about psychology that celebrates science and self delusion. In each episode, I interview a scientist (or several) and explore what we've learned so far about reasoning, biases, judgments, and decision-making, and if you stay until the end, you get a cookie. Seriously, there are cookies in the show.

You can check out all of the episodes here: Link to shows

I would love your help in making it bigger and better, and maybe even ad-free. My goal, fantasy, and dream is to make the podcast as deep and rich as my favorite storytelling podcasts like Radiolab, This American Life, and 99% Invisible - but to do that, I'll need your help.
