How Technology Can Bring Peace to Your Household

End the Squabbling with Spliddit Let's talk about a serious issue right now. Roommates. Living with people you don't know can be very challenging. And cause stress. Even living with friends can cause strain on your existing relationship! It's no good when everyone in the house is thinking that the others are taking advantage of them. Or that one person is getting more use out of the best spaces in the house than everyone else... and still only paying the same amount. Or how about splitting up STUFF? A family member dies and the rest of you have to decide who gets what. It's an emotional time already and often fights begin to break out. Life can just be so unfair! That's where Spliddit comes in. Each of the parties involved will be given the opportunity to assign a value to the items. Whether it's a piece of art or a guitar or a room in the house. Then, the system uses a special algorithm to evaluate what each participant entered and divide it appropriately. It's a mathematical equation. You can't argue with that, can you?! Now... everyone's happy. You're welcome. http://gizmodo.com/this-nifty-tool-helps-roommates-find-the-fairest-way-to-1655217174 Sonos Brings Peace and Harmony to Your Family And to keep the circle of love going, Sonos is going to be enabling the ability for you to add multiple accounts to your Sonos system. So you can have YOUR music. Your roommates or your spouse can have THEIR music. And the kids can have their teeanage beep-boppy songs that you can't stand. You'll be able to flip back and forth between them. And it won't affect recommendations or flow. The only bad thing? You can't get it until later this year.... https://gigaom.com/2014/11/04/sonos-adds-multi-account-support-to-its-connected-loudspeakers/ Ocean View Cabins Buried Deep Within the Ship I'd love to listen to the Maker Movement Manifesto - a book all about innovation... while on a cruise ship laying in my cabin looking out into the beautiful sea! Unfortunately, I can't afford a cabin with a view and balcony... as most people can't! I mean, c'mon!!! But that's okay now! Cause Royal Caribbean decided everyone deserves a view whether you can afford it or not. They're beginning to outfit their ships with 80" 4K TV screens. At first I was like.. meh... a loop of a video of sea? Not THAT cool. But then... I found out that they're sending a live feed from cameras mounted around the ship. So you're ACTUALLY seeing what's outside. If a giant sea serpent were to swim along with the ship and everyone's talking about it.... you'll have seen it too! So you won't be left out. Pretty cool! http://gizmodo.com/a-look-at-how-royal-caribbeans-new-virtual-balconies-wo-1655127199 Low Cost Incubator Wins Dyson Award Another cool thing? Innovation that saves lives! You may know that the Dyson Foundation gives out innovation awards every year. And this year, it went to a British guy, James Roberts. He's 23 years old and created a low cost incubator for premature babies. Apparently incubators cost $45,000, currently. Each. That means when you walk by a premie ward in the hospital and you see all those babies in there... it cost that hospital... oh... 45, 90,000, 135... like 67 bazillion dollars! That's expensive! And 3rd world countries, or places in remote areas without a lot of money... just can't afford that kind of equipment! So... James created MOM. The middle of the device is soft plastic that connects to the ends which are hard plastic. The two ends can fold together to be portable. And when they need to use it, they expand and lay the baby in there. It can use either power from a regular outlet or even alternative sources... maybe like a car battery?? And at the end, you have a hopefully healthy and happy baby. http://gizmodo.com/why-an-incubator-just-won-dysons-award-for-best-inventi-1655319179

Bruce P. Reinhard That's VERY smart that Sonos is making multiple accounts now!!! To be honest I've been on about 8 cruises & the TV thing might not be exactly be the same thing. My god son had to be in an incubator & that alone cost nearly $9000.00 for 4 days I believe it was!!! So ya I'll get one of those 'Low Cost Incubators' & bring it with me to the NNCICU next time :-) "B"

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (Video)

And now...I give you a cover of Burt Bacharach's masterpiece, Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, orchestrated by the stupidly brilliant Ryan Lerman and sung by Nataly Dawn's mouth and vocal chords. We recorded two songs at The Village Studios in LA last month - one cover and one original. It was a pretty crazy day, and I can't wait to go back and do it again. It's still amazing to me that (thanks to your support) we can actually afford to invest in projects like this. So thank you for that: for giving artists like Ryan and me a chance to go out and make music in the best studios with the best musicians in the world. Sure, we'll still be making most of our stuff at home, but it's nice to know that every now and then we can splurge on something like this. Enjoy!

This is a cover of OneRepublic's Counting Stars. You may notice that I'm dancing in it... I'll post more on that in the Patreon feed and would love to hear your thoughts on the matter. For now the download of the song is only available to $3+ patrons, but it'll be on iTunes soon! Enjoy!

Diana Rentchler I'll Be Seeing You - Honestly one of the best versions I've ever heard. And all the greats have done it. Sweet, sad and great character in that voice.
