Why were they written?
The aim of the guides is to provide people with the means to understand exactly who they are and how they work from both a practical and theoretical perspective. Which is important because probably 99% of the population don't know who they actually are and how they work.
(If you are one of that number and interested in discovering the answer to the question “Who am I?” please visit the Ruff Guide Website.)
Why this Patreon page?
When I began writing the Ruff Guides I knew that the information they contained would be of help to people on a number of levels. Because of this I have always felt strongly that they should be available for anyone to read.
To begin with I opted for a PWIW (pay what it worth to you) model which involved asking for a donation on the last page of the guides if the reader found it of value. This way they were free to read but could still generate some much needed revenue. And then I discovered Patreon.
Now the patronage model is similar to PWIW in that it will still allow the guides to be available to everyone for free. But it also offered some interesting additional features.
- The first is that it will create a community of like minded enlightened souls who together can help others achieve the same experience and knowledge.
- It will allow me to interact directly with patrons not only on a one to one basis but also with regards to the route we take as a community because ultimately I would like this page to be as much yours as mine.
- It will ensure the Ruff Guides are always free to read and accessible to everyone.
- If the patronage milestone of $1000 per month is reached I can turn my attention full time to writing the 3rd guide in the series which will focus on the basics of making changes to how you think and feel to change your life for the better. After that there will be a 4th guide which relates to life’s big questions and the ripple of change that occurs when you are enlightened to who you are.
There is also another reason to using Patreon which is slightly convoluted so you are going to have to bear with me as I explain.
The main objective behind creating the ruff guides is to enable people to discover, through direct experience, who they are actually are. This is the ultimate goal of the guides and can be achieved by undertaking the Who am I? challenge explained in the last section of the Ruff Guide - The Practical.
Once enlightened to who they really are I then wanted to go on and explain what actually happened to cause the experience. But there's a problem with having this information freely available at the end of the guide and here's why.
If someone decided not to undertake the practical exercise, for whatever reason, and then continue on and read the explanation as to what happened, they probably wouldn't be able to go back and undertake the practical exercise successfully. (I know this sounds weird but it is what it is and the reason will be included in the explanation post available for patrons.)
Which is where Patreon comes in because I realised I could use it to post the explanation of what actually happened but make it hidden from general view. Which means that it is only available for patrons to read. So people who have experienced who they really are will have to become a patron to find out what exactly happened to them- something I believe they will be happy to do to gain this insight. Hopefully they also go on to become full time patrons.
And that's it!
Sorry for the length of the post but hopefully it has explained what this page is about and why you should become a patron. But if you do have any questions please feel free to get in touch with me.
