About
Hello fellow game devs! Welcome to my studio. I'm Grant Brown, the owner of Zen Productions. As a fellow game developer and gaming enthusiast I prize dissemination of knowledge fore-most. In that vein I produce and distribute tutorials for reproducing old video games, as well as new methods of game development. You can find my feeds here, on YouTube, or occasionally being streamed live on Twitch, but for the most up to date information on what I'm doing follow my Twitter. I work mainly with GameMaker Studio 2, however I hope in the future to become familiar with Unity or Unreal engines as well.

How you can help
Making the NES tutorials is not easy. I have to frame-by-frame cut sprites painstakingly from each game that I want to reproduce, as well as capture audio. Game dev isn't my bread and butter job, so I don't have as much time to perform these tasks as I'd like. This limits how fast I can actually produce tutorials, and the quality of the final product.

I want to make the best products that I can for all people to enjoy, and I feel the best way to do that will be to hire an individual who can perform these tasks for me. Not only will that greatly speed up how fast I can create a new tutorial, but it will also free up time for me to spend on creating outside tutorials (such as my Tile-Based Movement and Display Manager mini-series). Additionally, I plan to make tutorials for creating original content, and not just NES clones.

If my tutorials have been helpful in any way, or you just enjoy encouraging other devs, think about dropping a dollar or twenty into this Patreon account. You're not just helping me, you're helping everyone else who will view and benefit from the tutorials I create and share! There's even a little something in it for you, so have a great day and good luck with your programming!

Making these tutorials takes a lot of time, not just the programming, but finding sprites (or cutting them myself) and music! I'll be able to hire some fine artists to help me out with this chore, as well as start up an original tutorial series for a game to be voted on by all patrons.
