Gene Johnson Good luck in the Northwest! You deserve all the $upport we can help you with. All our tech stuff seems so normal till it goes dead for a day or even hour or 2. I still remember the days of green screens, no email and you had to send "memo's via inter-office mail lol. My daughter works at a co. where they use IM more than email or phone, my how we've changed. So good luck, you're cute, fun and OS savy. Pretty good entertainment for someone in a town of 3000 in the middle of nowhere....keep your dream and it's just one step at a time :-)

Guilhem We'll be there, waiting, dear Nixie. Don't you worry about that. As for me, yes, I'm tethered. But, as a very shy person, I find the internet and social medias so much easier than "real life" to talk to people and make friends. My point is, maybe we are indeed a little too much tethered, cyber-dependant, but it also has a huge, huge advantage. Small people have voices. And, ultimately, we can help someone like you. In the end, is being cyber-dependant a bad thing ? I don't know, I think we won't know. Not in our day and age. But I'm being philosophical.

NAT Daemon I love you and your posts! Awesomeness! Just one question. I have pledged to support you but need to know how I choose a photo that is part of the pledge package? Just curious since I didn't see anything when I pledged. Keep up the fight!

Kathy Flowers You should be very proud of this piece. A masterwork with so much juicy ear candy -- from the lead all the way down! Beethoven would smile and rock out with you!

Ezekial Jones F'n awesome man!!! I hope to be as good as you one day. N-E-Ways...you should do "Bjork Meets Metal". It would be cool to see one of her older tunes sound metal instead of creepy depressed. 42.

Ezekial Jones You're TOO COOL!!! I've been addicted to Final Fantasy 7 for a long time. When I first started playing the super nintendo version called "Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest" I was 15 and had been playing guitar for 2 years and I tried to play the song that is played during the fight scenes and could not do it. You just 10 up'd me!!! I HATE SEPHIROTH!!! 42.

Glenn Snead Nixie, I have two questions about Mega: 1. How responsive is their customer support? I asked question # 2, but never received a response. 2. Does Mega support a pure cli interface? The website would lead you think otherwise. If they don't I'll have to dig elsewhere. Maybe OwnCloud (I do have a server) with an encrypted offsite to Amazon Glacier? If I use a sufficiently long key, it won't matter who seizes what. The time it would take to brute force my encryption would deter most people.

Nick Gammon Rather amusingly in light of your privacy video, Patreon was hacked and "There was unauthorized access to registered names, email addresses, posts, and some shipping addresses.". Plus "Although accessed, all passwords, social security numbers and tax form information remain safely encrypted." Maybe, but they say that the passwords are stored using Bcrypt and a unique salt per person. That still means that using the salt, and Bcrypt, the hackers could run a dictionary attack on your password (albeit slowly). Common passwords (like "password") would be quickly discovered.
