Girls Rock Camp Vancouver is a non-profit society that builds self esteem in girls and non-binary children and youth through music creation, performance and friendship. By providing workshops and technical training, we create leadership opportunities, cultivate a supportive community of peers and mentors, and encourage social change and the development of life skills. Girls Rock Camp Vancouver is for girls and non-binary youth ages 8-17.
We also have two ongoing after-school programs. One is at Moberly Arts Centre, run in cooperation with the Vancouver School Board (pre-registration required; for girls and nonbinary youth), and one is at the Urban Native Youth Association. This is a drop-in music program where Indigenous youth are given instrument instruction, can participate in open jams, and can attend various workshops, such as electronic music making, recording, drum making, and more. This program is open to Indigenous youth of all genders aged 11 to 24.
Girls Rock Camp Vancouver acknowledges that we exist on unceded Indigenous land belonging to the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Your ongoing support of GRCV enables year-round programming including the After School Programs at UNYA and Moberly Arts Centre, Girls Rock Camp Radio on Co-Op Radio, the annual week-long summer camp and showcase, gear acquisition, and storage space.
