The Amaranthine Reader

per month

Thanks so much for being a reader! For 1$ a month you get Shades of Jorick posts even after they go to patrons only, and the final version of any short stories before they’re published anywhere. Pretty snazzy. And I will list you in the thank you page of everything I publish while you are a patron.

For this I will need the name you prefer me to use, otherwise I'll use your screen name, and your email or kindle email address so I can send your short stories. (This does not include special reward-only stories such as for the typo hunt, or street team members)

The Amaranthine Fan

per month

A fan! A fan! I love fans. I love them so much that at this tier I'll let you have the Eternal Night gender swap, posted one episode a day, and you also get to read everything I write as I write it - or the next day, anyway.  On top of that you get mentioned on the thank you page of whatever I publish while you’re a patron, and I'll mail you any short stories in their final form before they are published anywhere!

At this level I'll need to know what name you'd like to be thanked as, as well as your email or kindle address to mail the short stories to.

About Joleene Naylor

Greetings, vampire lover! Thank you for taking a look at Amaranthine Unlocked. Here you may find special alternate scenes, stories before they're published, and even every rough draft I write. How cool is that?

Let's get the basics out of the way.

Who am I: The creator of the Amaranthine Universe, a world of blood and night, where vampires don't sparkle. Here lots of side characters interweave into a fantastic tapestry that includes a novel series, short story collections, stand alone novels, and a future trilogy.

What do I want: I want you to come along on this vampire journey with me. I want to give you access to cool behind the scenes stuff, to let you read stories before anyone else, and most of all I want you to have a blast.

What am I doing: At the moment I'm working on the Eternal Night gender swap. It started as something for fun, and has morphed into an extensive project. I'm also posting a fan request, one episode a week, that I'm calling Shades of Jorick - it's Shades of Gray from Jorick's point of view. (These posts start public, but after a few weeks move to patrons only because I won't be able to have them for free in a serialized format anywhere per the publishing terms I'll be under when I publish it.) And one of these days I'll get back to the vampire road-trip novel that stars the foul mouthed Micah and his vampire friend, Loren. They're driving out to California, robbing some gas stations, running into at least one familiar - but unexpected - face, but we'll see if they make it to the Pacific ocean. There's a good chunk of it written, so you can read what there is so far.

What you get: The Amaranthine Unlocked posts - which focus less on promotion and more on the Amaranthine world itself - are free to all followers. To get access to the rest of the goodies, you need to sign up for the tier of your choice. Unlike most Patreon pages, I only have 2. For 1$ a month you get listed in my thank you pages, get any short stories before they're published, and get all of the Shades of Jorick posts even after they turn patron only. For 5$ a month you get access to the serialized Eternal Night, currently only available here and Kindle Vella! It posts one episode a day (per public vote). You also get anything else I write, as I write it, such as the Micah novel, short stories, or anything else I end up doing.

Money? So what am I going to do with the money from this project? I'm going either invest it back into my writing (like paying for expo tables or stock photos) or do cool things like buy paint for my house, hopefully hire someone to cut down that dying tree in the front yard... Or I might go to the movies. Just think, your special writing preview might be the difference between me seeing Harry Potter Spin-off Number 72 or staying home to watch the plaster crack.
