About The Nintendo Force

Hey there, Force fans! After wildly successful Kickstarter campaigns in 2014 and 2015, the Nintendo Force made the leap here to Patreon in 2016! This is the place where fans have the chance to sign up and get new, Nintendo-focused magazines coming to your mailbox (or email inbox). It's time to join the Force of Nintendo fans! Subscribe to NF Magazine by becoming a patron on this page!

Here's some background info for you. Back in December 2012, Nintendo Power Magazine shipped its final issue. That got a lot of long-time Nintendo fans upset, as NP had been the one consistent and reliable print magazine covering Nintendo video games ever since the '80s. Some of us had been subscribers for over two decades, and there were still tens of thousands of active subscribers getting new issues delivered in the mail up until that final issue.

Well, we didn't want to see that legacy die. So we assembled a dream team of the most well-known Nintendo journalists from around the world and launched a new magazine four years ago! The first issue went on sale on January 11, 2013, exactly one month after Nintendo Power ended.

NF Magazine is not Nintendo Power, but we're carrying its torch forward into the future by paying homage to the best parts of NP's past while forging a new identity with an all-new team. So join the Force! Subscribe to NF Magazine by becoming a patron here on Patreon, and get all-new Nintendo magazines coming to your mailbox, your email inbox or directly to your digital reading device of choice!

(Note for adults: Being an adult stinks when it comes to checking your mail. Nothing but bills, ads and piles of unsolicited coupons you'll never use in there. But for just a few bucks invested here, checking your mailbox can become an exciting, nostalgic experience once again! NF isn't just a magazine – it's an adult life morale booster.)

This page isn't like other Patreon pages! Most Patreon creators charge your credit card every month. We don't do that. Here, you'll only see a charge pop up after we release a new issue – which happens every two months. We're bi-monthly. Six new issues per year, if you want to think of it that way! So become an NF patron with confidence!

Our milestone 60th issue is nearly upon us! For this edition of NF, we'll be hitting the streets – and hitting the faces of any punks who happen to be prowling around on those streets! It's a celebration of the beat-'em-up genre timed to support the upcoming launch of WayForward's new River City Girls 2.

We'll travel back to River City to get up to speed on that series, double-down with other brawlers like Double Dragon, echo our efforts from last year's Turtle Power issue with new coverage of Shredder's Revenge and The Cowabunga Collection and much, much more! It'll be so much fun, it's sure to get your blood boiling!

In order to get on the first mailing list for this issue, you need to be signed up as a patron here before Monday, June 20, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern time. Click that "Join" button above on this page with the pledge tier of your choice, then get ready for your magazine to arrive!

After a 15-year hiatus, the Mario Strikers series is about to strike back with an all-new sequel on the Switch! This electrifying pseudo-soccer spectacle made a major impression on the minds of players of its first two installments back in the GameCube and Wii days, and we’ve got no doubt that Mario Strikers: Battle League will live up to their legacy.

In fact, we’ll just go ahead and take the opportunity afforded by its June release date to give this upcoming May/June issue a whole vibe of athletic appreciation. We’ll also have MLB The Show 22 and the new Nintendo Switch Sports to talk about as well, after all, so we’ll assemble a whole sports spectacular to support their release too!

We’ll also bring you our review of Kirby and the Forgotten Land to follow up on our last issue, devise just the right tactics for Triangle Strategy and more. Don’t miss NF #59!

In order to get on the first mailing list for this issue, you needed to be signed up as a patron here before Friday, April 29, 2022 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. If you signed up after that, don't worry! You can still get a copy by placing an order for one through the website store at NFMagazine.com.

Kirby returns to the cover of Nintendo Force as we spotlight his first-ever 3D adventure! Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a game that we've been waiting to see happen for decades, as the Pink Puffball is finally breaking free of the constraints of 2D sidescrollers and stretching his stubby little legs in an extra dimension. We'll take a closer look as its March 2022 release date draws nearer!

We'll also take a look at other games with similarly post-apocalyptic settings. Why are so many video games set after the end of the world, anyway? We'll endeavor to find out!

The 10th year of Nintendo Force Magazine has kicked off with a January/February 2022 issue highlighting Pokémon Legends: Arceus! This trailblazing trip back to the past of the Pokémon planet is working to propel the series into the future, gameplaywise, and we broke down everything players can expect to encounter in advance of the game's January 28th debut. A huge 2022 Year in Preview also looks ahead to the major hits planned for the next calendar year, including Splatoon 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2! (Which might get its official name soon?)

In addition, the wall poster included with print copies of this issue is the first in a series of three. When combined together with the upcoming posters that will ship alongside Issue #58 and Issue #59, you'll be able to assemble the full, super-wide majesty of the complete Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter banner! (That is, if the Pokémon Legends: Arceus art on the reverse side doesn't tempt you too much. But you could always swap over to the Double Print tier to secure two copies and thus be able to display both sides of the poster!)

In order to get on the first mailing list for this issue, you needed to be signed up as a patron here before Monday, December 20, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time. Becoming a patron through this Patreon page is the way to subscribe and receive future issues of NF Magazine! If you're just now finding out about the Nintendo Force and want to get caught up on some of what you've missed over the past few years, our previous issues are available for sale through the website store at NFMagazine.com. Keep an eye out for sales and bundle deals there from time to time!

Goals
4,356 of 4,500 patrons
Let's shoot for the next milestone together! If we surpass 4500 patrons, we'll add an extra wall poster to not one, but two upcoming issues, and we'll let our patrons choose what both of them will be! Do you want more official artwork? More original works from our NF artists? A full set of pixel-perfect maps depicting the entire range of mountains from 1985's Ice Climber? All options will be on the table, and the patrons will decide!
