This is the estimated living wage for someone who works full time (40/hours per week), with no children, in Washington DC, according to M.I.T.'s Living Wage calculator.  At this level, I could actually afford my rent, get a decent amount of sleep every night, and be able to take a few days off every week.  It would ensure that my basic needs are met so that I can free up some brain processing power to work on my creativity, acting, writing, and art.

But most importantly, it would allow me to offer Trans Porter services to more people in need who can't afford to pay.
