About Vi Grey - Retro Computing Development

Hello, my name is Vi Grey. I'm a software developer known in the hacker community for doing very strange projects quickly. From time to time, I will stream development of some of those projects.

Since 2018, I have been making NES games from scratch as a hobby (yes, the gaming console from 1985). This has landed me talks at multiple technology conferences and official name badge development for the 2019 Midwest Gaming Classic.

Some of my Information Theory projects relating to NES homebrew development include an NES ROM file that is simultaneously a ZIP file that contains its own source code called "NESZIP", a custom NES game that was also a presentation slideshow I gave using real NES console hardware, and a working programming language interpreter for the "Brainfu--" programming language. The process of creating NESZIP was explained in an article I wrote for Issue 0x18 of hacker journal "Proof of Concept or GTFO" and was also featured in Hackaday and Kotaku.
