DESA MTA: How Will I Make It? A video filmed entirely on hi8 tape, looking into a day in DESA’s life; being consumed with graffiti from sunrise till after sunset. Labeled the ‘Million Dollar Vandal’ by the Daily News, DESA is one of few writers to have served time in maximum security prison over vandalism. Yet still, today he remains the zenith of a life-long bomber despite the life changing consequences he has faced. 

The video features DESA taking tags on everything from parked motorbikes to walls, sporting an Eddie Bauer backpack filled with paint, only taking a pause to walk into a deli to re-energize himself. He has been in New York representing MTA since the 90’s and documenting graffiti all the while. The video includes a brief look into photos DESA has shot on trains & tunnels from a past era, a session of DESA hitting a sketchbook with various black & silver ink markers and DESA bombing the borough of Brooklyn.
