Introduction

AniAPI is an open-source REST API for anime streaming lovers. It uses Anilist as the principal Anime's reference and scrapes supported websites to obtain episodes. All songs are imported scraping AniPlaylist.

Scope

Our scope is to provide a free-to-use API and let other developers care about relevant things for their applications.

History

AniAPI was launched back in August, 2019 principally for anime streaming directly from a web application in order to avoid ads-filled websites. After 2 years of various improvements and programming languages, in 2021 AniAPI became a public Web API, made in C#.

Future

As January, 2021, AniAPI is still in an early-stage version, with a rich roadmap for bringing more features in future.

Community

Thanks to a growing community, AniAPI has already 3 wrappers, explicitly for NodeJS, Java and .NET.

Infrastructure

AniAPI currently operates on 3 servers:

• Core server
• Scraper server
• API server

Core

This is the main engine of AniAPI. It collects anime, songs and episodes data. It also synchronizes user data to most known trackers like  Anilist and MyAnimeList.

Scraper

This server exposes a private API layer used by the core one to fetch data from websites.

API

In order to grant a great service, API layer runs on a specific and isolated server.

Support

Our plan is to make available as many sites in various languages as possible. In order to reach this goal, we also need to increase our servers computational power.

Your support is not for personal use. The purpose is to keep the AniAPI REST API running and to provide a better service for the developers. If goals are met, AniAPI will be scaled in an effort to provide the better service.
