Ducklings are some of the cutest floofs we get!
Duckling starter is $5/bag, greens and mealworms are also provided for a balanced diet.
We triage, medicate, stabilize, and feed duckling intakes until they can be transferred to our duck rehabber.

Let's just say that we go through a lot of seed. Our most voracious seed eaters are House Finches, Northern Cardinals, Mourning Doves, Blue Jays, Brown-headed Cowbirds, and Common Grackles.

Aerial insectivores go through massive quantities of mealworms, help us feed them!
In order to ensure that everyone has their needs met, we order large quantities mealworms (90,000/wk), crickets (500), waxworms (250), beetles (250), and fly larvae (250).
The Woodpeckers
Woodpeckers eat everything. EVERYTHING.
We feed:
Nut & seed blend ($25)
Woodpecker "crumble blend" ($20)
Suet spread ($20)
Suet cakes ($20)
Fruit ($5/box)
Mealworms & super worms (480 mealworms PER WOODPECKER PER DAY)
Cat-caught birds need help
The majority of cat-caught birds require lengthy and expensive stays in our care: this adds to the cost of ongoing medication, food, and housing until their feathers are re-grown.
Medication: pain medication, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatories are required for all cat-caught intakes, and antibacterial wound cleaning solution and bandaging are required in many cases.
Hummingbirds are thirsty!
Hummingbird formula isn't just sugar water - babies need protein that comes from insects and spiders their parents bring them. Tasty!
This is one of the most complicated diets that we prepare, requiring a complicated combination of formula ($75), live insects (fruit flies, $5/box), and fresh flowers ($10/day).
