Compost Worm

per month
Small but important. You create the foundation of our circular ecosystem. You touch the gross stuff.

Garden Gnome

per month
Not merely for aesthetic purposes. You scare away the crows, and are about the size of the toddler who enters into a garden for the first time: just the right height.

Farmer's Market Fanatic

per month
You're early to the market every week and understand the power of locally sourced seasonal produce. The grocery store has its place, but meeting the person that grows your food really makes your big heirloom heart grow a size or two.

-Your donation sponsors a Home-grower (rack build, fan, pressurized sprayer, fertilizer, seeds, gas).
-Exclusive Content such as behind the scenes outtakes and extended cuts.
-Shoutouts in the credits at the end of all our lovely videos

About Grow-Op

Grow-Op is an urban agriculture advocacy group and seed-starting initiative based in Chicago. Our mission is to increase the growing capacity of community gardens + vacant lot farmers in lower income communities. Through our work we aim to connect people with local food projects in their neighborhood - farms, gardens, and home growing. We mobilize volunteers to start seeds at home and then distribute the mature plants to participating gardens and organizations.

The "Home Grower's Program" - our flagship mutual aid project - distributes over 1,500 healthy transplants to three gardens and early-stage farms across the city with the help of 10 different "home-grower" volunteers.

Currently, our main partners are OTIS Fresh Market and Breathing Room Gardens in Back of the Yards.

Help us work towards a more equitable food system that supports networks of neighbors engaging with local food alternatives to traditional food supply chains.

Thank YOU for your support and contributions and reach out if you'd like to be a home grower :)

Fire Hydrant Key

This funds the $400 hydrant key for one garden project. Water access is a HUGE barrier for urban farms' in early-middle stages of development. Regular water can take a farm to new heights in terms of production (obviously).
