About iHearIC

The iHearIC concert series was founded in 2009 by Jared Fowler in an effort to bring University of Iowa School of Music students together with artists from the rest of the Iowa City community; "both sides of the river." Together they put on public concerts and fostered a cooperative and collaborative creative environment. Since its founding, the series has also been directed by Zach Zubow, Andy Thierauf, Kassia Lisinski, and Carlos Cotallo Solares. Justin K Comer has been running the show since 2015. iHearIC Radio began on the University's radio station, KRUI, in October 2017.

In Summer 2017, we made a commitment to make sure every artist who performs on an iHearIC concert gets paid. We need to fight back against "for exposure" culture! That's where this Patreon page comes in. We had success with a GoFundMe (https://www.gofundme.com/ihearic), where our supporters contributed a total of $500 to our cause. Our goal now is to replace the GoFundMe with a steady Patreon, where we can better engage with our supporters and give something back! Please join us in our quest to properly compensate Iowa City artists!
Goals
$18.72 of $60 per month
This will cover the budget we set in 2017 when we started paying all performers. Having that baseline entirely covered by our Patreon would be a huge step forward.
