Coworking is back!

At this level, you'll receive the benefits of Tiers 1 and 2 plus:

A weekly two-hour coworking session. Our Zoom coworking sessions will occur on Wednesdays from 2-4pm Pacific time. Each meeting begins and ends with a brief check-in to share what we'll be working on and to report back how it went. Then we turn audio off (and cameras, if you wish) and get to work. In my experience, these coworking sessions generate a wonderful sense of camaraderie and help cultivate a consistent "deep work" practice.

About Melissa Wiley

Hello, friends!
Welcome to my private corner of the internet, the place where I open my notebooks and my studio and my heart to you, my treasured guests. I'm so glad you're here!

Who I am
On my books, I'm Melissa Wiley—but you can call me Lissa. I'm the author of more than a dozen books for kids, including The Nerviest Girl in the World, The Prairie Thief, Fox and Crow Are Not Friends, the Inch and Roly series, and the Martha and Charlotte books. I also write literature guides about middle-grade novels for Bravewriter.com. Since January 2005, I've been blogging at Here in the Bonny Glen, a chronicle of my family's reading life, our Tidal Homeschooling experiences, and my many enthusiasms such as bee-and-butterfly gardening, learning to draw, fountain pens, and embroidery. (So much embroidery.)

Show-and-tell is my love language
My notebooks (aka my brain on paper) are bursting with resources, quotes, and "big juicy ideas" (to borrow the phrase of my friend Julie Bogart) that I'm perpetually eager to share. This space is the digital equivalent of the pile of books and links and apps and art supplies and conversation topics I would be sure to thrust upon you if we were hanging out in person.

Your support makes a real difference
In 2017, my Patreon subscribers bought me a much-needed nap. A lot of naps, actually. I was going through radiation treatment for breast cancer and needed to dial back on freelance work for a while. The medical bills lasted a lot longer than the tumor did, which is a good thing, right? I'm forever grateful to my patrons for helping take the sting out of those bills. And the skin-cancer bills in 2020. Sheesh. It's always an adventure around here!

Grab a cuppa, grab a chair, and let's chat
My actual studio is pretty small—and crammed so full of books and art supplies and project tables that you might have to sit on the floor. But this Patreon is wide open. We have all the space we need. Let's get cozy, let's get creative, let's make connections. Welcome!
