About Noah Grigni

Hi, I'm Noah! I'm a trans freelance artist from Atlanta, Georgia. I illustrate books, create comics, paint, design shirts, and create art for activist groups. My central goal as an artist is to celebrate trans joy and empower trans kids. Thanks for visiting my Patreon!

ABOUT ME:

I graduated from Lesley University in 2018 with a BFA in illustration, and I've been freelancing full time since then. I work mainly in children's books and comics. I have illustrated four books so far: The Every Body Book by Rachel Simon (2020), The Ship We Built by Lexie Bean (2020), It Feels Good To Be Yourself by Theresa Thorn (2019), and The Gender Identity Workbook For Kids by Kelly Storck (2018). My art has also appeared in We're Still Here: An All Trans Comics Anthology by Avery and Thornton (2018), and The Transgender Heroes Coloring Book by Avery and Cameron (2019). I have also illustrated the covers of Rolling Warrior by Judy Heumann and Kristen Joiner (2021), Too Bright To See by Kyle Lukoff (2021), The Other Animals by Audible (2019), and Boston Pride Guide (2019 and 2020).

I am always juggling art jobs, but I am currently working on three projects that are incredibly dear to me: Cloudland, my debut graphic novel coming in 2023 from Henry Holt; Mama Moon, my debut children's book (as author and illustrator) also coming in 2023 from Henry Holt; and Trans Dreams Are Sacred, my first solo exhibition, opening in April of 2022 at the Boston Children's Museum! Cloudland is the story of one trans boy's first crush, set at a summer camp in rural Georgia. Mama Moon is a story about a child who muses that their mother, who has bipolar disorder, is like the moon. Trans Dreams Are Sacred is a series of paintings celebrating local trans kids and their dreams, opening in April of 2022. I am so excited about these three projects, and I'm working on them frantically! As I work, I'm updating Patreon with progress posts (although I don't share art under NDA here, or anywhere else), so you'll be the first to know what's going on with me.

You can see my art at noahgrigni.com, on instagram at @noahgrigni, or on my etsy shop. I also have a shirt shop, where 50% of profits go to trans mutual aid.

ABOUT MY PATREON:

I joined Patreon in 2019, in the hopes of becoming more financially stable. I love what I do and I work hard, but my income is notoriously unreliable due to the nature of my work. I don't want to burn out, so I'm doing everything I can to make my art career more sustainable and less exhausting. That's why I'm on Patreon. Patreon offers a crowd-funded, supplementary income for freelancers like me. If a job falls through or a payment is late, at least I'll have some guaranteed income for the month, and that means the world to me.

I share most of my art for free on Instagram and my website, because I want it to be accessible to everyone. So if you like my art and you have the means, consider tipping me for it!

Why should you tip artists? The same reason you tip waiters: because we are doing you a service (yes, just by making art you enjoy), and we don't make a livable income doing it. So, if you like my art and you want to keep seeing it, consider throwing me a few dollars each month. You'll have my everlasting gratitude. And, a few other perks:

DISCOUNTS (ALL PATRONS):

All my patrons get a 15% discount code to use in my shirt store and etsy shop!

DIGITAL CONTENT (ALL PATRONS):

All my patrons have access to all my digital content! This includes early art posts, project updates, sketches, WIPs, and whatever else I feel like sharing on this platform. This also includes six downloadable comics which can be found nowhere else on the internet: The Lighthouse (2013), The Tempest (2014), Undone (2015), Shit I Learned In Art School (2016), Anatomy of a Wallflower (2016), and Thots With Thoughts (2017). Patrons can find and download these comics by clicking the featured #comic tag in the the "posts" section of my page.

I try to post new content to Patreon at least twice a month. I generally post new art to Patreon before Instagram, so my patrons are the first to see it. Sometimes I forget though! Please be patient with me, I'm trying my best.

MAILED REWARDS (ROYAL PATRONS):

I have 4 membership tiers on here: $2 peasant patrons, $4 princess patrons, $10 queen patrons, and $20 empress patrons. My $4+ patrons, or royal patrons, receive art in the mail every 2 months!

$4 Princess Patrons get 1 mini-print (5.5" x 8.5") every 2 months; $10 Queen patrons get 1 standard print (8.5" x 11") every 2 months; and $20 Empress patrons get 1 standard print + 1 small original doodle every 2 months. I always print new art for these mailings, and all patrons receive the same art, just in different sizes. Prints are always high quality, always in color, and always on cardstock. I also include a thank you note, a sticker, and occasional extras like postcards and recipes, in each art bundle. It's pretty cute! I like sending mail, you like getting mail, everyone wins. I want my art bundles to feel like love letters. I hope they brighten your day when you open them.

Every pledge helps, no matter how small. Thank you so much for reading, and for supporting me if you choose to!

❤️Noah
