Having asked for listener requests in terms of podcast topics a few days back, I felt as though the query relating to Newcastle's ongoing takeover saga involving Amanda Stavely and the Public Investment Fund was deserving of some airtime this morning.
It's a twisting and murky story that has roots dating back more than 10 years, with Mike Ashley desperate to sell up on Tyneside, only for obstacles to always find their way into his path. This particular attempt to wave goodbye to the North East has proven particularly fiery, with all sorts of theories as to why the Premier League haven't green-lit a deal.
I've done my best to summarise it all inside 16 minutes this morning; hopefully I've done the subject justice. If you have any feedback, good or bad, as well as any other ideas for topics you'd like me to discuss on future episodes, please do get in touch, either in the comments section below, or over on Twitter at @HLTCO.
