About Paula R. Curtis

I am a historian of medieval Japan who tweets and writes on all things global premodern, Japanese history, digital humanities, and life in academia. I believe in paying forward practical knowledge gained from my experiences as an academic and creating content that enhances equitable access to research while diversifying our resources.

I am the creator of What can I do with a B.A. in Japanese Studies, the Digital Resources and Projects on East Asia database, and East Asian Studies job data tables and visualizations for the annual academic job cycle, among my other writings on academic and online life. My online projects and articles are unpaid labors of love into which I often put hours of work each week, so the donations that keep me caffeinated and the sites I create hosted are greatly appreciated!
