About Rhys Langston and Black Market Poetry

Rhys Langston is the best kept secret's best kept secret. Free from the strictures of specialization, he is an artist working in all methods and modes: underexposed, un(der)published, unwavering.

The idea and not the medium is central, even if whatever song, poem, prose narrative, painting, or performance comes out artfully fuzzy and semi-abstracted.

However, the mediums take their place on the podium as testaments to an artist graceful in process: skeletal beats and piecemeal stanzas turned to an album and book; academic brain pickings turned split-personality interview and performance art; one freestyled pencil mark made self-portrait; etc.

Here on this platform, Patreon, you will receive access to the incrementalism behind his more refined works—like fragments, demos, brain pickings, sketches— as well as exclusive works unseen by a wider public.

As well, this will serve as the location where articles and opinions from The New Langstónian Gazette will circulate for all subscribers and members.

Goals
$45.55 of $2,000 per month
With my monthly living expenses covered by patrons I can more vociferously follow projects that are stymied by bureaucratic life proceedings.

As well, instead of purely behind-the-scenes material, my Patreon will become more detailed, with fully fleshed out, exclusive productions.
