Scott McLemore

Hi there! I'm Scott McLemore and I'm a drummer/composer/designer/writer living in Iceland. I recently had an epiphany that I should make more stuff and decided this is the right platform for that sort of adventure.

If you know about me at all, most of you probably know me as a jazz drummer. I primarily think of myself that way too. I play with various groups including Sunna Gunnlaugs' trio, who is also my wife, and the reason I live in Iceland.

You might also know that I've released 3 albums of my own music. But you might not know that I also make graphic design. I designed all of my album covers as well as a bunch for other people. I also worked for the design firm Hyperakt in its infancy when we lived in New York.

Lately, I've been writing for the publication Creative Enlightenment on Medium and that is actually what sparked this epiphany about making more stuff. I started listening to the Creative Pep Talk podcast with Andy J. Pizza (highly recommended) and through that I realized there were parts of myself that I was suppressing. I enjoy being creative and so I'm going to do more of it... here.

• I'm going to upload videos about drumming.
• Drum solos that I improvise every week.
• I'll upload videos as part of my process of composing to show progress and when the pieces are finished I'll post the sheet music.
• I'll be showing design in progress which will culminate in posters, t-shirts, etc.
• I'll let patrons get a sneak-peek at articles I write for Medium before they get published. Heck, you could be my proof-readers!
• Top tier patrons will get a free download of my most recent album.
