About Bryan Wright

Hi! I'm Bryan Wright, host of The Shellac Stack. I'm a pianist, record producer, and musicologist at the University of Pittsburgh. This weekly hour-long program is my salute to the music and musicians from all walks that made the era of 78 RPM records such a vibrant and musically exciting time.

The Shellac Stack
mixes vintage recordings (all taken directly from original 78 RPM pressings), historical background, and trivia in a program that's great for drive-time listening, exercise accompaniment, or just relaxing in a comfortable chair with your favorite drink.

The Shellac Stack has no underwriters or paid advertisers. Your contributions through this Patreon page will help to offset the costs of producing and delivering this program to you each week, including:

• Web hosting and the bandwidth
• Maintenance of 78 RPM transfer equipment (expensive styli need to be replaced regularly)
• Cleaning and storing original 78 RPM discs in a safe, climate-controlled space
• Subscriptions to software that facilitate the production and distribution of the program

for your contributions that help to keep the program going!

-- Bryan Wright
