Advert free episodes & extras

To supporters of the show, I try each month to give some extras from the interviews. Some things never make it into the podcasts but are worthy, they might just be off-topic...

You'll get a few extras, bits not previously aired in the original show.

You will also have access to advert free episodes of the show.

C Company

$7.50
per month
Extras and advert-free podcasts and a mention on the show.

Throughout the centuries philanthropic gestures of generous people have made endeavours possible.

At this level of support, I make you an honorary colonel of the podcast. I may not be painting the Sistine Chapel like Leonardo da Vinci, but you are my Medici, helping me convey the history of the Second World War.

At this level of patronage, I am humbled. On top of advert-free episodes and extras, you will be mentioned on the show.

About WW2 Podcast

My passion has always been the history of WWII. Like many people, I grew up with stories of the war told by those who were there.

My father was called up in 1944, he joined the RASC, and I had two uncles in the RAF (one on Lancaster Bombers and the other on Sunderland Flying boats). Many of my parents' friends had served in various roles, from crucial war service such as "Bevin Boy" to radar operators in the Navy.

Why the WW2 Podcast?

Tired of other podcasts telling me their interruption of the war, episode after episode, in 2016 I thought I'd start my own WW2 Podcast. The difference would be in each episode I’d have a chat with someone who really knew their topic and every episode on a different subject than the last.

What is Patreon?

Patreon is a way of allowing you to fund the WW2 podcast by becoming a patron of the show. I don’t ask you to give me $50 or £100. If you enjoy the podcast, why not agree to give me just a $ or two, or whatever you want to give each month.

It’s simple, you enter the amount you're comfortable with each month and Patreon takes care of the rest.

Why do I ask for patrons?

It's been a strange journey since the first episode looking at the Halftrack. Six months after starting the show I found myself out of work so my family and I moved from London to rural North Yorkshire and I went back to University and did a History Masters Degree.

Talking to other historians for the podcast, they encouraged me to carry on in education and do a PhD. As crazy as it sounded to me, I applied to do one and was accepted.

So since that first show, a lot has changed. I'm now an independent historian, though I haven't quite finished the PhD yet. The WW2 Podcast is my principal source of income. And that is where I could use your help.

There is just me researching, recording, editing, and marketing the show. It takes a lot of my time. Those listeners who sign up as patrons make this possible by chipping in the price of a posh coffee each month.

As a thank you for their patronage I do try to give a little something back, with extra chat from guests and at a higher tier advert-free episodes...

So if you enjoy the podcast please consider becoming a patron and help me keep the WW2 Podcast on air…

Thank you for your support. It is very much appreciated.
Angus
